astor courts

incredible.
one of the most beautiful rooms i've ever seen.

the room in its original state

the shade hanging from the glass ceiling is stunning.

this house is perfect.

a wonderful slideshow of images from the re-done astor courts
via the new york times.
the home was designed in 1902 for john jacob astor iv who died eight years later on the titanic. since then the house has been a convent and an old-age home.

i love everything about this
probably because i wear some variation of it practically every day

i'm seriously considering treating myself to that cdg cardigan
only in black

i'm looking for a baby gift for a friend and found this at giggle.
one day when i have kids, i plan on buying 30 of these tops and 30 of these pants
with matching socks and hats and outfitting my children strictly in stripes until they choose to wear something else.
until then, i wish this was my size.
and office appropriate.
